We started planning our trip to Sylt over a year ago, way before I even got pregnant. Actually we had two trips planned, Sylt and Tuscany, Tuscany would’ve been in June, sadly we had to cancel that trip as I would’ve been way to pregnant to go (34 weeks) and I was sure I was going to give birth earlier than planned and didn’t feel comfortable being so far away.
Anyway, we were extremely excited about Sylt, which is a beautiful island in the north of Germany. It has a Nantucket meets English countryside vibe. The houses are beautiful, the landscape is breathtaking, but the weather could definitely be better. It’s super windy, and it’s almost always raining. Still we’ve managed to make the best out of it.
“We had so much fun we totally forgot to take Mila to the toilet and well… shit happens, literally”
The first day the weather was quite nice so almost as soon as we arrived we made our way into the beach. I absolutely love the “Strandkorb” the basket lounges around the beach, they’re super comfortable and also look amazing all along the beach. We sat there and enjoyed watching Mila play on the sand. Sadly although kinda sunny it was extremely windy so going into the water was no option.

Vacations with two kids don’t always feel like vacations at all, but seeing Mila (because Alex is too young still) being happy and enjoying everything is the best reward and makes it all worth it.
